Hi all...I'm looking forward to learning great new things with ya.

I had an epiphany this morning! I read about how spent or old coffee grounds can help your garden. I've sprinkled some old coffee grounds in some of my beds before. I'm not a coffee drinker and had some left over for hospitable reasons only. But this morning, I got to thinking about the coffee that is brewed all day long in the office next door. We also have a Starbucks next door. So now I have a big bowl and a bucket for the used grounds to go into rather than them throwing them in the trash. Just one days worth will be fine for me. I can also collect them for family and friends who want them for there garden as well.

I really get excited about this stuff!! I get even more excited if good and useful things are done for free!!

Hope you have an epiphany that excites you today.

I don't drink coffee either, but the preacher says I make the best coffee. I just put the coffee in the coffeemaker and dump in the water.

Great idea. I now have something better to do with the toxic waste than putting it in the...

So, how can something that smells so lovely taste so awful shk

It's an acquired taste. I used to drink it just for the caffeine and then one day I got a cup to wake meup, took one sip, and said ,"What the heck is wrong with this coff3ee?.....Uh oh", I was hooked on the taste as well as the caffeine. laugh I agree, though, it smells MUCH better than it tastes.

Hi! I'm new to this forum but my husband is a big coffee drinker and loves Starbucks BUT he found a coffee shop he loves even better and that would be Caribou Coffee. The coffee at Caribou is roasted individually so it doesn't get that bitter/mix taste or so he tells me. I too love the smell can't stand the taste. If you can find a Caribou Coffee near you Try It you may like it.

You can usually find Starbucks coffee in your local grocery stores. I buy the whole bean and grind it myself. It's not quite the same as getting it at the S'buck store, but SO much better than the other junk available in the grocery. :p

And to all you out there who love the smell smile and can't stand the taste.... :p it's because you're drinking the junky stuff. clp

I have to admit, I don't drink much coffee at home, I'm a tea drinker...
RED rose TEA~EXCLUSIVELY!!!!

But I only drink coffee if I have time for it
when I go out... *usually cause the tea doesn't
taste that great when I go out..*

And I love coffee, just not the coating I get after a cup or two...

My husband gets a few bags of grounds every week from starbucks close to his workplace.

We use them to suppress weeds too...by putting a layer of newspapers and covering up with coffee grounds.

I think plants like them 'cause they keep other critters away - squirrels don't like coffee grounds. So they say, I dunno' - some squirrels might prove you wrong.
