Hi everyone!

I am a new member from Mauritius, which is a little island in the Indian Ocean! I am crazy about gardening in general. I love all flowers and trees, and shrubs, and herbs…well all plants, whether terrestrial or aquatic! I live in a flat for the moment and my garden is restricted to my balcony. How I wish I had a big garden! My collection includes many aromatic herbs and culinary plants (thyme, basilic, chillies, parseley, spring onion, mint, celery, tomato), some flowers (bromeliads, anthuriums, gerbera, Christmas cactus, bougainvilleas, azalea, roses, hibiscus), and some cacti. I never use synthetic pesticides and try to find natural alternatives. I am also an aquarist and love my fishes and aquatic plants. Thanks for all the info on your site. Hope I can be of some help too!

wavey Hi there,
Isn't this place so neat, I still have not seen everything that there is to see, but it is very helpful!!
I live in Ontario, Have you ever been here before? The place you live sounds very hot, perfect weather for gardening thumbup
Anyhow, I hope to hear from you soon and maybe we could share tips and chat.

Hi penny

Nice to meet you! No I have never been in Ontario but I will love to visit one day. Yeah, mauritius is a tropical island, flw ideal for growing fruits and flowers but not really good for plants that love a more temperate climate like lavender. I've had my lavender for over a year now and it has never flowered. ters Am so sad for my lavender. It still looks healthy though.

Will love to share tips with you. What kind of garden do you have, and what plants?

Cheers

hi isabelle and welcome to the garden forum . I am also a new member , just joined the other day .
With your lavender make sure you don't water it to often they love to be dry. I hope it flowers for you next year.
see you around the threads.
