My house is only 32 ft wide and on either side I planted a tree as a foundation planting. I just found out what I thought was a small tree is a juniperus chinensis 'fairview'. How bad is it going to get? I'm told that these grow to be large trees, I am facing north east, what can I replace them with that is only about 10 ft at its tallest and about 3-4 ft in width. Oh, emerald cedars don't do that well here, they always turn brown and die back. Help before winter is upon me...

wow, sounds like you have a situatino for yourself here. how big has the tree gotten? if its still small, it couldn't be too hard to move it.

The trees are only 6 feet tall right now and can be moved but I hate to do it unless they really do grow too big. The info I've seen gave a range of 10-20ft tall and 3-8 ft wide. 10 ft tall by 3ft wide is the size I want. Cedars are no good in my area for foundation planting because they end up dying back and with large brown patches all over.
