OP dyan Junior Member D Joined: Jan 2003 California	Hi, I have some narcissus in my back yard. I normally cut all their leaves in the summer. Can I use the leaves to mulch my tomato and pepper plants? Anything in narcissus leaves that could harm the plants? Thanks.

Acanthus Member A Joined: Nov 2002 Alabama	I would suggest composting them first to make the nutrients more readily available to your plants. I don't think using them for mulch while still green would be a good idea, it might promote rot, but if they were dry and browned, I don't think it would hurt. They are so lightweight though, it would be difficult to keep them in place. Composting would fix this problem.
