I have been thinking about raising ornamental Calamondins in Canada but don't know much sbout the needs. I do know their growing conditions etc....however I don't know about growing and distribution in Canada. I would hate to raise crops in which I was not legally allowed to sell or where there was no market. Does anyone know about the laws involved with this species? or the demand for that matter?

Thanks for the welcomes! I didn't do a good job introducing myself earlier, I had calamondins on the brain!!

I live in Montreal,Québec. I'm in my late twenties, work in the pharmaceutical industry but studied ecology, my true passion. I know my way around plants thanks to some courses, lots of experience with house plants and annual gardens outdoors and an inherited green thumb. I am by far an expert however.

I have always wanted a citrus tree, and a few months back my boyfriend surprised me with one!! I am in love with this plant, it is doing well, but I have been doing as much research as possible since I want to give it every single thing it needs to thrive, (and to root my cuttings lol). So this is the reason I found this place, and an impressive place it is!

Again thanks for the welcomes

I posted about it in the fruits and veggies section, where I saw stuff on meyer lemons and mandarins. Hopefully someone can help.

My cuttings have perked up since I put them in a plastic film to trap the humidity, they went from almost dead to sticking straight up in hours!!
