Yes there have been a lot of songs written about and for Texas. From Texas independence from Mexico, through the civil war and back to statehood and the many heros Texas has had. Most came from our sister state Tennessee. songs still being written about Texas George Straight just released Texas cd. Asleep at the wheel did an Cd about Texas a few years ago. Don't forget Willie Nelson, Ernest Tubbs, Johnny Horton,George Jones,Waylon Jennings,Bob Wills, Buddy Holly,Freddie Fender, Johnny Rodriquiz, J.P. Richards (big bopper) Tex Ritter And the lists goes on of famous people from Texas both singer, actors etc.

Tennesseans love Texans. I was born and raised in Tennessee, but my mother was born and raised in Texas, a little place called Hackberry, TX that doesn't exist anymore. It was near Farmer's Branch and Carrollton, TX. I lived near Austin for two years and my daughter now lives in Hilltop Lakes, TX.

Arizona I believe has the cactus flower. It's, like, 197 degrees here right now.

Thornius as you well know Texans love Tennesean's. Where would have been without the Volunteers. Know very well where Hackberry was still got Hackberry creek running through Farmer Branch as well as Carrollton and a lot of streets named for it also.

Yes, they are beautiful! I didn't mean that in a bad way,,,just meant that "I'm" not from Muskogee. I love many of the neat towns in Oklahoma...my old stompin grounds! thumbup
The azaleas do so much better in that area than here. I love Woodward Park in Tulsa in the summer with all the azaleas around the creek, pond area...spent a lot of time there as a kid. It is one of the most beautiful parks to take pictures in! Oh, just makes me want to go to T~Town!!!!
