Awww, thanks Meg and Jimmy!
You guys are sweet.
One thing that saved me a ton of money was that I didn't have a "real" photographer.....My friends and family all gave me their doubles....so I have TONS of pics...just not fancy ones, and that's okay with me.
The veil, necklace, and shoes were my sisters because she got married a few months before me....And the food was prepared by the womens auxilary at the firehall....We just paid for the food....I think it was about $400 bucks....and we had a DJ of course, and the cake...but you really can do a nice wedding on a budget. My mom made the cake topper--but I did splurge on the cake....it was yummy. So there are ways to cut costs on weddings....I think in total with the dress and food and DJ and cake and everything we spent around $1500 dollars. The firehall rental only cost $20 because my MIL is a member....so it was great!!!! Lots of people said it was the most fun they'd had at a wedding reception....
My friends left the church right away and traveled the 25 miles to the reception site and decorated it for me and put the favors out. I really couldn't have asked for a better day, or a more wonderful hubby.
See how dark he is in the pictures???? That because he's a roofer....I'm always so pale....
