My home looks pretty good right now! My future brother-in-law stopped in during a business trip to stay the night, and I was like a wild woman cleaning yesterday.

I tried to do the Fly Lady thing. I just couldn't stand someone ordering me to get off my butt and clean my sink before I could play in the Garden Helper forum! laugh Much less, get dressed down to my shoes so that I would be dressed for the day. My jammies feel more comfortable in front of the computer. grinnnn

For me, it's more that I needed the check list. I don't find FlyLady to be ordering me. I find it to be loving little nudges.

She's not for a lot of people but I'm really amazed at how wonderfully motivated I feel when I'm dressed to my shoes. She certainly doesn't work for everyone but she works for me. I'm such a perfectionist that I was too obsessive. She's helped me let go of a lot of that. Not to mention my clutter.

I've reclaimed my weekends so that I now have time to garden. And I don't get upset at the poor fiance for no reason anymore. thumbup

I wish I could post a pic of my laundry room..you guys would KNOW for certain that I am insane! It also serves as my pantry...everything is all catagorized. Every vegetable together (in a row) All the things I buy in bulk in large tupperware type canisters labeled...all spices together...etc. All I have to do is walk in and look at the shelves to know what my grocery list will be. I was blessed (or cursed) not sure which with the great NEED to be very organized. I have to be able to put my finger on any given thing at any time. It drives my daughters~in~law crazy! It kind of threw me when we downsized to this matchbox size house from %^$$...but I have recovered!

Oh, so that's what I'm doing wrong! I put everything in canisters but have to open and sniff to determine the contents. laugh I have a couple that I just can't quite identify. You'd think after 2 years I wouldn't put them back on the shelf, but no, every few months I re-attempt the "sniff test". shocked

Cricket, I actually have to give credit to the moths and mealy bugs for the canister thing...however...I absolutely love it. I now keep everything in large canisters. I have a huge square bin w/wheels for flour, 2 a little smaller for sugar & powdered sugar. Then I went to the dollar store and loaded up on the round and square canister sets (I think there is 5 to a set for 3 bucks)all of my pasta, rice, beans...everything (even malto meal, tapioca..popcorn..etc)in canisters. I built shelves that hold 1 large canister with a medium size one stacked on the top all around the top of the room.I built lower shelves for canned goods and then Peanut has a shelf of his own where I kept his formula and fruit. But now that he is off formula (Thank God!) I have more room to play with and am converting it into my herb shelf!

wow! This is cool! Fellow Flybabies! I've been a flybaby on and off for a few years now. I have to say that, if you just do what she says (but only 1 babystep at a time), it works. I've fallen off the flywagon so hard (shhh...don't tell marla I said that!) that I just started over recently, with the somewhat nicer weather. My first babystep has been my AM routine. I get up, shower, pick up upstairs, head downstairs with the laundry, put the tea on, then the laundry, make breakfast, pick up downstairs, do my "daily houseblessing" (yes, I've broken mine down into days-a true Franny) and then I'm good to go and play outside. It's been great, and it feels awesome to be done with everything by 9:30 am instead of standing there at 11am, still trying to figure out where to start. The 3 boys, 3.5 yrs, 18 months and 35yrs, certainly make things challenging. Might sound silly to you BO people (born organized), but for those of us who seem to just spin through our days haphazardly, it's really a blessing!
Anyway! Just had to put my 2 cents in on this-sorry so long wavey

If anyone needs "support", clarification or suggestions on what worked for me, just email me. I LOVE FlyLady. Plus, if you want to know about her merchandise, I've got almost everything and I can give you my review. LOL!!!

If you're thinking of starting, I suggest dropping me a line so I can give you Sachi's dos and don'ts LOL!
