Hi everybody ~

I am in a STUPID situation and I'd like ya'all to pray for me FAST!

This milk duct infection has gotten really bad. My docs won't just call in a prescription without seeing me. I have no transportation. There is a bad storm. Maxi is at home.

They want me to call an ambulance and go to the local small hospital because they are calling this "a medical crisis". But if I get down there, with Maxi in tow, we will have no way to get home again!

I have been on the phone for hours back and forth between my visiting nurse (who is at home sick today!) and my assorted docs. We are waiting to hear back from one last office. If they will just call something in, I can get started on treatment until I can arrange to be seen next week.

Thanks!

Merme

I'm praying, Merme...

If you get something called in how are you going to go pick it up? Will they bring it to you?

Merme praying from Texas also. Sounds like you need to do as they ask maybe your priest or someone from the church can bring you and Maxi home. Call him/them and ask Bad weather or not Maxi needs you and you need to be as healthy as you can be for him as well as for yourself.Like Cindy said if they call something in how are you going to get it?

If they call something in before the doctors close this afternoon, my visiting nurse volunteered to run to the pharmacy for me in the morning once this storm has passed and the roads are better.

Unfortunately, my priest doesn't live locally... he is about 50 minutes driving time in good weather! In this mess, he'd be hours getting down there and getting me home again.

Merme, please do as you were advised & take the ambulance ride & get those meds ASAP! This infection can blossom into a systemic thing that can threaten so many other parts of your body, & your immune system can only do just so much at once. Besides, I know, personally, how uncomfortable this condition is... (Thank God they have the technology these days, to zap stuff like this in short order.)

Call the hospital back & ask if they have a volunteer program in place, where people can take you back home after you see the Drs.... OR, what about someone in your church Parish? Can you find out if there is someone close by who would be willing to drive you back home? I know the weather is creating problems, but I really feel that you DO have a serious situation going on, & only YOU can call the shots.

Praying for guidance for you. luv

In the MORNING???
That's really not good to wait that long, even if they would call the prescription in. I'm with Patty on this. How far is the hospital? Could you get a cab to take you home? (We don't have those here... Duh )

Merme, How are you doing now? Any changes in what is going on. I also think the hospital is a good idea but totally understand you not wanting to go. Am praying for you and Maxi.

flw PROBLEM SOLVED! flw

THANKS, EVERYONE!

So a doc who knows me well called in a good antibiotic. One of my friends who lives at rather a distance but works just 3 miles out, is certain she'll be able to scoot over to my town in a couple of hours, get the Rx, and drop it off to me before heading for home!

I knew you guys are champions of prayers and well wishes!

I'll soon be on the mend and will get some follow-up in person soonest.

Triss ~ I haven't heard from her at all today. I thought if her surgery was cancelled, we would have seen her on the forum by now, so I'm assuming it went through. Her daughter was supposed to bring her back to her town after work, so it's a huge guess as to when that might be!

The snow has turned to rain and man is it a MESS out there, so all prayers for anyone who must be out and about in it today/tonight.

I'll be relieved once Melcon checks in with us!
