...and he can look sooo SWEET!

I don't get it.You continue to be a mystery to me.

I know this poor dog was abused.But the first time an animal bites me. he meets the wall hard.

I continue to be a mystery to my OWN bad self!

I just can't do it...
I don't know why.

Everyone who deals with Freckles in a DOMINANT manner gets respect from the Hound.
I'm a wimp and he knows it...and USES it against me.

Cindy, have you tried the whistle test with him?. You blow the whistle really hard, it stops an animal in it's tracks. The noise hurts their ear's. Do not get me wrong, you know how much l love animal's, and feel a lot for Freckles, with his horrendous past. Maybe that is the answer.
Carry the whistle with you all the time, and whenever Freckles looks threatining, just blow it. As you say, you cannot be dominant. Just give it a try. He will soon know who is the boss.

Some of those looks he gives you make him look more like a ticked off person than a dog....LOL

Couldn't you build him a little dogrun out of some fencing so you can be outside and still be safe????

I'm headed to Wal-Mart right now to buy him a muzzle. We've been trying to clip him all day...

Wrong not just bad dog dead dog . Enough is enough and seems to me this is entirely too much. How much of this are to going to put up with before you do something with him? You going to let hom tear half your face off or maybe bite you in the throat. To give him any treatment you have to get in his face. I'm sorry I don't abuse any animal but also take no abuse from any animal. Do something before he does something terrible like kill a child that is passing by. If he will bite you he will bite a child.
