I would like to know the best time for taking cuttings from my Confederate rose Shrub.(Hibiscus mutabilis). Down here, we call it the Pass-along plant 'cause they are supposed to be so easy to propogate. They are blooming now, but they will die back in the winter. They come up in the spring from the base of the plant and grow rapidly once the weather warms up. Sooooooooooo,when can I take the cuttings?

spring does best.but you will get a better plant from seed than cutting.don't know why

if you were to winter sow them they'd need a minumum temp of 45-50.they would be hardy once established.maybe try a few and see how they do and wait on the rest till bout march.I've grown indoors in winter but was starting them
