Ok.I live in boonies in the woods. My adress don't show on a yahoo map.I am able to find a map I am on.I don't know how to read a land survey map and am guessing at some of this. 1st map http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?z=15&n=3407868.00001788&e=348566.999996769&datum=nad83 Is mass I'm wondering if is the huge lake.word is theres a 100 acre lake back here.lots of natural creeks& underground springs back here.shoot I know their names now.I see some small "P" shaded in refering to the ponds(are all spring fed...as well as our swamp mud hole,we lined with logs for traveling purposes)I really should have paid attention in geography, but that was 6th grade..eeeons.

Well, I know how to read those maps, thanks to my second husband who was an engineer for a coal company, as well as a geologist! It's kind of hard to explain without showing you on the map...but, all those squiggley lines come to a point where there is a small circle. (It's not exactly a ROUND circle!) O.K. Forget that! When you see the smallest circles on the map, that is the highest point, like the top of a hill. Then the circles around that are so-many feet down the hill, etc. I have the map you NEED! It actually shows the land. You can zoom in and find your house! I'll find it and be right back! Cindy

Here's my house! TerraServer O.K. Click "Advanced Find" Then click "Address" Type your address in the spaces, then hit "Go". You can zoom way in or way out, and move the map in any direction. It's pretty cool! Cindy

OMG, Cindy, I can almost see you!! You want to hear something funny? (I'm sure you do! ) My brother (a pilot) and I used to take aerial photographs for people. He would drive the plane (a little Cessna) and I took the pictures. Well, whenever he was out by himself just flying around, he'd fly over my house when I lived at the farm. He'd take a sack of flour with him to drop and see how close he could get it to my house! So, one day I'm out in the yard and I hear his plane over my house, and he circles, lower and lower, and I thnk he's gonna throw a bag of flour out. He was SUPER LOW, so I dropped my pants and mooned him real big! Wellllll........he came to the house a few hours later with some "aerial photographs" he took while he was up there! And there's my a$$, right there! Ruining the picture!!! Cindy

That's ok Loz.. my house isn't noticeable, and my friend's house is still showing as an undeveloped area with a baseball field there..lol. If you look at the date of when the arial photo was taken, it's a few years old. These houses are anywhere from 1-6 years old. I didn't see much in my photo..lol. And I couldn't make out my house either, which in on the older end of 6 years. Meg

Don't worry about it. We all have a moon...and have probably showed it. Maybe even more than once. Not me, of course.

I found me...but it took me about 45 or more minutes(I stopped for a potato soup break..heated 3 minutes, picked up in house& brought back to comp& on with the N button.W button& so on)I had no red tack button, cause my addy don't registar on here either,so got phonebook and looked addy up to golf course& used it& i cruised down 190 by ariel(turned up a utility access rd,so I got lost for a bit& became friends with back button).I know know where what i call blacktop Rd and 2175 was not logged in 1995.When got close to home expanded view out and then homed in on "my neck of the back40"I can't get a marker put on me on map& abode won't load jpg& don't feel like searching for coraldraw disc. But found myself& love this feature.I believe the woods behind me must have been logged in 95 or was low grown . then

COOL! ! ! I see you!
Isn't that Terra Server site neat? It's the first website I got on when I bought my computer years ago. I wish it was updated!
My house has changed a lot since then. We don't park in the front anymore so the driveway has been moved (due to my bird gardens - too much bird poop on the vehicles!). Also a big 60' long garage behind the house now for heavy equipment, etc. And, a deck built on the entire back and side of the house. Think I'll email them and ask when they are gonna send someone up to take some new photos!

I played with that one the other day. My images were 7 years old. It was pretty fast. Just wish they didn't have those words all over the picture!
