Tell us a little bit about your property. Is it wooded and shady? Sunny and no trees?

Flat or hilly? Do you have any pictures?

It's 26 acres, lots of pine trees, wetlands with 2 large ponds appx 60x60' each. Two areas have been cleared so far so I have shady and sunny areas. NO color but the green grass and pine trees. We are building the house appx 1800 feet from the front of the property so I have this long driveway with NO color. PLEASE HELP. I have attached a link with pictures.

Thanks

wavey hi glass onion wavey welcome to the garden helper. where abouts in ga are you? i am just north of savannah, and live on 5 acres of former tree farm. so i know all about the sand and trees. a lot of your options depend on where you are at and what you want to accomplish, but as ideas and thoughts come to you, post them in the landscape section and you will get lots of help and good info.

I'm in Ellabell, not far from Statesboro. Actually we moved from Savannah and relocated here. I'm interested in turning these horrible ponds in to one large beautiful one. I'd like blooming trees along the driveway, pretty flowers around the pond, lots of color!! Thanks shocked )

Oh wow how cool. I can picture some type of flowering trees and shrubs at the front entrance and along the driveway. It would be lovely.

You are so lucky to have natural ponds. One big one would be really nice. Mine are rubber lined kind and my pet peeve is black plastic liner showing. UGH!

Water, forest, clearings, building a house how fun and overwhelming at the same time.

Jiffymouse,
I know where Guyton is! Wow, how close! What have you done with your property? Are you new there too? We have a 3 part plan a cottage, carriage house and main house. The cottage is almost complete. Do you have pics of your property??

Rue Anemone,
I LOVe the idea of flowers and trees along the driveway and in the front, I was thinking of Azaleas, what do you think? I have so many ideas about the pond but don't know where to start. Do you have pics of your pond? This is a HUGE task, clearing, planning, building, decorating and more! I know that I MUST have a greenhouse but need lots of advice and links on where to go to get me started. Like stated, I have NO experience in gardening and we need so much color down here.

Please keep your ideas coming!
Thanks shocked )

Welcome glassonion, checked out your link, seems to be a great site, keep your ideas and questions coming. Is your new house going to be seen from the road or is it hidden by your driveway?

The main house will be built appx 1800 feet from the front entrance. It will not be seen from the road so everything is important, the entrance, the driveway, the ponds and the site where the cottage, house and carriage house will be.
