I am concerned about two new grafted gardenias in my garden. we just had a cool front go through here last night with high winds and cool temps. My plants are loaded with buds and i am afraid i will loose all of them. Any input on how hardy the gardenias are. Our lowest temp was around 55
but we have been having a few weeks of 80 temps. Will the change in temp hurt them

I have some gardenias (august beauty- i believe). In SC we had a very cold winter. Our lowest temperature was around 10 degrees. I thought i lost my gardenias, but they did survive. There was some visible leaf damage, and some of the limbs died. Now, i'm not sure they could handle 10 degree weather all winter!!! I was lucky... gardendreamer03@aol.com
