Battling hummers is not a bad thing. Maybe time for more feeders? Dunno about the other bird though.

The small woodpecker is probably a Downy or Hairy.

Downy

Hairy

If your hummers are quarreling over territorial rights, Triss made a good suggestion. I have one feeder at the kitchen window and one at the picture window in the living room, on the opposite side of the house. Right now, they aren't paying much attention to the feeders though and are busy working all the flowers and shrubs that are blooming. wink

Your woodpecker is a Downy Woodpecker, Porter. If it has a red patch on the back or top of its head it's a male; if the head is all black and white it is a female.

it is indeed a downy.
actually i do have two feeders
one on the front porch shaded by a large fir tree
and another out back hanging out of a maple.
the one on the porch seems to get the most traffic.
my flowers were kinda puny this year so other then cannas ,they dont have a lot to feed from.
most of my glads were ill this year and are just
about done blooming. got some hollyhocks that are ready to bloom so that will help a bit.
seems like most of the bilbs and plants i ordered online this year are doing poorly or dying in the heat. dont think im gonna order online anymore.
