Hey everyone. How do you like the fallish weather? I love sweater weather. If I only didn't know what's coming.
I'd like to get all my mums blooming now. Can I feed them some blooming fert. Or should I just wait for them. I can't wait. Everything else is about done blooming and I miss it all.
I didn't pinch any of the mums this summer. Didn't need to. They grew great but didn't bud up.

I don't think there's anything you can do to make your mums bloom right now...you'll just have to wait until they're ready. A bloom fetilizer will only help make them bloom longer and better, but won't make them bloom at a specific time.

Mine didn't grow as tall either.I useually cut them back by HALF(leaveing 2 ft) in July. This time I just pinched the tips.My bronze mum did not bloom this spring. Its actually in a jungle right now.I guess should move it huh.my cuttings from fall last yr are just starting to bud.they are in a shaded area.

Thanks for the wonderful link, njoynit! kissies Great site! thumbup I found some really great quill and spider mums I want to check out! wink

I always keep my mums pinched back until about mid-July because it seems to give me more blooms clp and makes the plant more bushy and compact! I've been doing this for years and I love the results! luv
