I have soapy looking spots around the stems of some of my perennials. I would like to get rid of it, but don't know what it is. I use mostly organic insecticides. Any help would be appreciated.

Does it look like bubbles? If so, it's spittlebug. Just remove them...they're down inside that foamy stuff. I'm all for organic...keep up the good work!
We have those on my honeysuckle by the hundreds and I tried last year to just pick them off but there were just too many of them. Any thing else I can try?
Neem oil is a natural product that's a good insecticede, most garden centers sell it these days under different names. I have some that's called Garden Safe Fungicide 3. Neem kills fungus, insects and mites. Pyrethrin is harder to find sometimes, but it's a good pesticide. I don't know if Safer's Soap would work on spittlebugs.
