While stalking the elusive Cedar Waxwing, I noticed a fresh new grassy nest out on the branch of a tree. I could not see into the nest because it was 7 feet off the ground, so I carefully raised my camera up over my head and pointed it into the nest. this is what the picture revealed:

Great pictures Thorny!!
My nest & egg book says Robins nests are usually 6' wide OD by 3" tall. Is that the size?
Ah, one more clue in a birders world. idea

We have a bird here in Californai they say is a robin, but it's brown with an orange chest and head. Not black.
Speaking of babies, we have a new baby crow in the backyard, and his mom.
That baby never gives her a break-a thin, honk squawk all day long.
I make sure there's plenty of good foods. Crows are scavengers so scraps are OK, plus seed and whole grain breads.

That appears to be an Eastern Phoebe or Barn Swallow nest. Take daily pictures until the babies leave the nest to have a diary of the development of the babies. Do a Google Image Search of Barn Swallows and Eastern Phoebes to see what the parents are.
