We recently completed a huge landscape project - tiered stone retaining walls containing four large planting areas. We have very little planted in them yet. One of the beds has a nasty, slimy black growth on the surface of the soil. There is good drainage in the beds, we added corrugated drainpipes. The bed in question is in shade most of the day. Suggestions?
