Last year I bought a six pack of purple wave "hedge" petunia's that seeded and bred true.I also kept a couple of the wave's alive over the winter and they got huge (I still have them and am putting them up for another winter).I've always thought of them as hybrid annuals but my volunteers are true to type.Anyone else have luck with them? I guess I better save some seed.

I didn't know you could keep them alive over the winter. I have a huge purple one out in a container that is still going strong. I wonder where I could keep it over the winter?

clp I put pvc hoops and plastic over each raised bed for the winter and transplant flowers into the beds. Some geraniums make it,some don't but my dianthus and waves are huge and in bloom when I dig them out in spring.Everyone made fun of me when I did it (my neighbor said they looked like a little wagon train) till I took the plastic off in the spring and had 2 foot high brussel sprouts before they put their little starts.I harvested grocery sacks of parsley out of it during the winter.I had to keep cutting the parsley or it overshadowed other plants.
