Hi ya'll, wavey

Well, it seems it's that time of year to dig up Caladiums. This is the first year that I've planted and enjoyed a nice variety in pots. I've put Caladiums in the ground in years past, but did not dig up and store.

Should I store my bulbs or just keep them in their pots to winter over til next spring? Other tips on Caladiums?

I'm in zone 9, we get mild winters, maybe a few nights of 25 degrees.

I didn't think they would have to be pulled up
in your growing zone???

Thanks Rosie! I'm still a bit puzzlied though. As Weezie stated, I'm also wondering idea if I can just leave the bulbs in their pots since I am in zone 9.

I would think you'd be able to...

**I over winter dahlia's in a certain spot here
at the base of my house and I am in a growing zone of 5..

so, even if you have your caladiums in a pot,
I would think they'd be easy enough to move into
a slightly heated garage or basement of your house..

Up here, Unless they were in that same exact spot I over winter the dahlia, they wouldn't survive.. but I would think in your growing zone/area you'd be able to leave them right in the ground...

I am hoping, maybe Jiffy or Alankhart can scoot thru, they're closer to your growing zone, than I am and would be able to help you alot better than I can...

Weezie, angelblossom and comfrey, wavey
I think I am going to leave them in their pots after reading your input. I may even mulch in their pots from angelblossom's tip. Thanks ya'll! wink
