WOW!!!!!!!!! That is one gorgeous flower!! Where did you find it? I've seen morning glories, but never anything that striking. Do they produce seeds? I could just picture something like that growing along the fence with my asao clematis. The pink of the clematis...and the purple of that...hmm. NICE. Ok, off to look for "striking" plants smile Good luck on the growth of all your morning glories, and I look forward to more pictures.

As to the seeds. They are out there, but hard to find.I lucked out& someone traded me 30 different kinds.I grew 2 last year.I bought A start of asao clemtris.for now its with a pink rose on arbor still dormant I guess.Alot of JMG are short vines& great for hanging baskets.some have large flowers.a few are scented& alot have leaf variegations and are in different shapes.Sydney will stay open almost all day.

Michael that is not the smallest. My early call& german blue have smaller flowers.I loved the speckles& will now have to grow my 4 flaked JMG.The early calls don't stay open long, but are in morning sun& get blasted once suns up over the trees bout 9:30ish.You'd LOVE growing these.

This one hangs on my porch deck.

And sydney.I like it.I have it rigged up on my hanging contraption.no one sees it but me,the deer& anyone I bring about back to have a look see.You can see it some from the bathroom but the etcheing on the glass blocks alot of that.

Yours are growing so strong! I love them! I'd love to trade some seeds with you! Those are amazing!

Robe caught my eye! I'm growing glories for the first time and I'm starting to like the flowers. Hmm... I think when you plant something for the first time you like it of course.. lol Nice photos njoynit

BTW: I meant why is the plant so small? They usually get long and stretch far!

I have a few different kinds of JMG I am trying my hand with this year.......they were a gift from husband former supervisor. He took them from his wifes garden in Japan. They are purple with a white edging and one is dark pink I believe its a double bloom also with a white line on the outter edge. If I ever get blooms I will post pics. So far they are slow to go.

Mine has blooms on it. They are a very pretty purple witha white line on the outter edge. As soon as the blooms are a open and their are a few more on there I will take a pic. The pink double bloom has done nothing as of yet though.

I have a nil cornell that is a fushia colored pink with white edge. This is a shot took last year.

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/njoynit03/detail?.dir=9c8f&.dnm=e99a.jpg

Its still growing in same hanging basket.I had a re-seeder.I also have a variegated leaf JMG with same flower, but the flower don't open as nice as nil cornell & the flower is a lil smaller. Also has a touch of white to center.

Micheal some of the JMG are shorter vines rangeing from 8-10 ft.most are great for growing in hanging baskets(which is where most of mine are grown)Wisteria tye-dye seems to be my shortest vine so far.And this is my longest so far.....

which is fine with me cause this one actually stays open most of the day.

This is growing on arbor.
