I bought a little beauty today ! It's called a Sweet Pea tree.
It doesn't seem to have any fragrance but it's pretty.
It's in a decorator pot - can it live in a pot? Any tips?

Do you know the botanical name for it Deborah? Common names can cause a bit of confusion.

in this part of the country, I think it is Polygala myrtifolia

Yes, it's the polygala.
I've since learned that it can live in a pot.
However, I gave it to a neighbor.
I do that once in awhile-buy something I lose interest in later. If the flowers had smelled like sweet peas, wild beasts couldn't have gotten it away from me !
But there's no fragrance. Wish now that I had smelled before I bought !

Deborah, how sorry I am that you were dissatisfied with your sweet pea tree. And how generious you are to give it away. Wish I had you for a neighbor. I have heard of the sweet pea vine, but never the tree. Hope you can find something to replace it. Sue
