Does anyone know if lantana will come back if you cut it to the ground?
Mine got some weird disease that looked like a hole with a wide white ring around it.
So I cut it to ground level.
I'd be thrilled if it comes back up from the woody stem.
Deborah, My mom used to chop the heck outta hers and it always grew back even prettier. That was when we were in CA, so I would venture to guess yes, yours will survive unless the disease got the entire plant.
Cool, Triss ! That's good news ! Thanks !
Where in CA did you live?
We used to live in Sacramento and North Highlands, which is just outside of Sacramento.
Oh, OK, I'm down in San Diego county.
Yep, I have been to Encinitas once. My hubby has customers down there as well.
Wow, small world ! If you're this way sometime, we should meet for fun !
That would be great! One of these days I will head on down to CA again.
I had some that I thought dead. pruned heavily & watered. They came back strong.
Oh good, that's two, and it gives me hope ! I sure would like to see this lantana come back.
