i live in this old (100 yrs) house, and i can`t keep anything alive!!

there is 1 window in my kitchen that does ok..i have a spider plant and a cactus. the window is a north facing one, and is the only north window in the house.

i`ve tried wandering jew, asperagus fern, and a host of other common tropicals, ect. and all other directions.

is there a house plant that will do ok in low filtered sunlight ??

Have you tried dieffenbachia or african violet. I have both in my home and they do not get direct sunlight and are doing well. Also Scheffelera.

Pothos does well in artificial light.....I have also had luck with Croton. Good Luck!

I would try pothos, african violet, chinese evergreen, peace lily.. something along those lines.

Asparagus ferns can be fussy at times actually. I don't have the greatest luck with mine either.

All good choices... Rubber tree's grow pretty well in low light as well..

snake plant( mother in laws tongue) also tolerates low light !

How about a cast iron plant? Those things will grow almost anywhere.

My lucky bamboos seem to really like low light as well.

i have tried the violet, and nope...dead..

and i guess i should apologise, when i said lo lite..lol...i meant hardly any at all...
of course, except for the 1 north window...

Yes, yes! Sansevieria! Very nice, much underrated, worth a try.

Try a nerve plant, ZZ plant (VERY slow growing), Pothos, Ivy.

you might try getting some cfs bulbs for some of your lamps and placing your low light plants under those. It's helping mine quite a bit.
