How would I replant my Prickly pear without, well, pricking myself! laugh I supect gardening gloves, but still wouldn't the "thorns" go through the glove?
It's a very small plant overall, and I don't want to ruin it by holding it wrong or something...

Any ideas??

Wrap it in newspaper? That's what I used to do...

myndful is correct, but what I do with the newspaper is roll it up first. Then you can wrap the roll around any kind of cactus without getting pricked - usually works very well.

The other option is to get kitchen sized tongs - I have a small one - the size you use for ice cubes - that also works well.

I use tongs alot of the time also, or gloves.

Bubble wrap works well. Some of the cells pop, but the spines don't come through, you don't come into contact with the glochids, and you can throw it all awaym when you're done.
