Our tropical hibiscus was blooming great last year. We took it inside for the winter and it became very straggly. We repotted it and pruned it and now it is a very healthy looking hibiscus with NO blooms whatsoever.
Any help would be appreciated. THANKS!
Have you fertilized the plant since you transplanted it? I would recommend that when you repot a plant not to fertilize it right away, but to maybe ad a bone meal to it. Then wait about 3-4 weeks then maybe fertilize with a NPK ratio of 20-20-20 or as close to that as possible. Hope this might help you out. Also did you prune it the same time as repotting? That may have put to much stress on the plant.
Oh, also when you pruned it you may have cut the blooms off!
Thanks for your suggestions! We pruned it and then repotted it later. It had gotten very scraggly looking. Hopefully with a little fertilizer it will rebloom. Thanks Again!
You can fertilize the plant but it will probably not push any blooms until next year. But fertilize anyways in case the soil could be lacking some nutrients and this will perk it up this year! GOOD LUCK!!
