I am growing some peppermint and was wondering if anyone had any "recipies" for gathering, drying and using it in stuff to make some really tasty things
plantfaerie, i have pmint too i pinch it here and there toooooo keep it "bushy". I put some in salads, I dry some and rub it on pork with other spices, make tea with dried leaves. It's uses are pretty much endless. I hope you enjoy yours Have you ever grown it before?
Nope, never grown it before, but I wanted something edible to go with my non-edible plants. It's doing pretty good, even withstood one heck of a storm.
well hold on to you hat because in the blink of an eye it will be everywhere. It's a very invasive plant. It will send out plants from exposed roots, shoots, and runners
And a gust of wind will blow through.......and behold! How'd that get there?that mints way over there.darn(*pull relocate at 2-3 inches) I have chocolate mint, cat mint, lemon mint& a small start of cintronilla & a small pot of pineapple sage thats weird cause the leaves smell grapey.my chocolate mint is everywhere& i've only had it 3 yrs.I did container one clump.......but the wind blew through. I've used the lemon mint on fish, crappie& bass& on chicken& always drop leaves in my tea.cat mint is stronger as tea& not as invasive& evergreen for me.I plan to keep my flowers off on my chocolate mint from now on.
