I was just making my third batch of suet cakes today for my bird friends, and remembered this page that I had posted a loooong time ago.
So, I dug this link out of the "Recipe" archive to remind everyone to feed the birds! thumbup

Suet Cakes

In place of the suet in the recipes, I use shortening and bacon grease. And, I don't follow the recipes, they just gave me ideas to start with. I put all my stale bread, leftover rolls, etc. in the chopper thingy and add them to my cakes. Just whatever I have on hand. A handful of oatmeal, cornbread, some cooked rice is good, (and it holds the cakes together really well).

Just tried it again and the page still won't come up.

If it doesn't, guess I'll have to type out the page I printed earlier.
But.....I'll give it 'til tomorrow to see if it shows up.
