That is good news, especially after this heat. Hope it doesn't make it even hotter though.

We need rain here in Toronto - we've been steaming from 30 to 35 celsius.

There's a place in Saskatchewan (I think that was it) where it was 47 yesterday - that's 117 fahrenheit.

I can't imagine.

What temps have you had there? And how about humidity?

It's been in the mid-80's Farenheit to upper 90's some days. And not very humid.

It seems that as climate begins to shift we in the UK may soon share your concerns.
Today I learned that portugal, france and spain are all undergoing a severe drought, to the point where cattle are dying! We also are seeing some of the hottest weather I personally can remember.
It's all a bit scary, but I'm still more concerned about hosepipe bans

My husband thinks it is funny when I call my hosepipe a hosepipe. He thinks it should just be called a hose or garden hose.

It rained here this afternoon. I was glad. I didn't water the garden this morning on the chance of our getting a shower. I hate fighting the skeeters out there.

One good thing about this drought is that there are virtually NO skeeters!

Last summer, my first in the area, I could not venture outside. They would attack me from all directions and I'd have 11 or 12 bites on each leg and more on my arms. And the bites would swell up to an inch in diameter and itch for weeks. It was awful. Couldn't do anything outside without DEET on me, and then that stuff stinks and is sticky. Have to bathe right after you come in.

I guess they'll be back soon, though.

A little rain here - .4 in. They predicted 6-12 inches

We need much more. It seems to be going north and south of us, and what gets here dissipates quickly. Hopefully more today or tomorrow.

For those worried about climate change - We had this in 1988. It was 90 degrees F. the entire month of May and didn't improve the rest of the year. We had water use and electricity restrictions all summer. Two years later we had one of the coldest summers on record, with public pools closing at the end of July because it was way too cool to swim. First frost was in mid-August. This is just a cycle, not a climate change. Don't panic!
