One of my kalanchoes has this sticky stuff on its leaves, with what looks like miniature grains of rice and little white flecks. I'm trying to keep it isolated from the rest of my plants. What pest do I have, and what should I use to treat it? Thanks!

Hi Erinne,

Probably mealybugs. Spray the entire plant until it is driupping wet with a solution of 6 parts water to 1 part rubbbing alcohol. If you are really thorough, that should do the trick.

Soybeans?

Thanks, I'll try that.

And, as a vegetarian, I love soybeans. Especially as tofu or edamame.

I suspected a Vegan Peacenik, but needed verification! LOL! Good for you!
