I have a large 50+ azalea garden. 10-15 years old. I would like to remove the plants, remove the soil, put in new soil and replant. This is major undertaking. My question is what is the best way to protect the plants while they are out AND how long can I keep them out? Hope someone else tried this and can keep me out of trouble. Duh

I'm curious as to why you would want to do this? But I cannot answer your question.

My neighbor let their chery laurel run wild - and into my azalea bed. Now I am unable to keep my bed looking good. After two years of digging, pulling and cutting, the remaining "visitors" roots are entwined with my azalea roots. Making the only way I can see to get this garden space back is to start fresh.
