I know this will sound very basic as I am sure it is. But, yesterday I bought a potted mum and I am wondering if I should re-pot it into a better pot rather than leave it in the foil rapped one it came it. I bought it to replace a begonia that was murdered. I kept finding the begonia just laying on top of its dirt which was very confusing because I don't even have a cat. So, either it was unearthing itself in an attempt to run away from me or something was cutting it off at its roots. Now I fear for my new mum and am hoping you can give me some advice to keep my new beauty healthy. Thank you for your help!!

hi shannon. i'd leave the mum in the pot it is in, but i'd remove the foil covering. then, depending on where in alabama you are, after it is acclimatized, you can plant it directly in the ground. they are very nice perrenials! just cut back the dead growth at the end of the summer/fall each year.
