This thread caught my eye over in "Mystery plants", and I'm totally fascinated with this tree. I was hoping to get more info on it, especially its growing habits. Does it take a lot of pruning and tending to go from this:
4 months old
to this:
4 years old
Also, I'm wondering just how easily it reseeds itself-I don't mind plucking a few seedlings now and then, but I don't want to be fighting with it continuously.
Other than these two concerns, it seems like the perfect tree for my otherwise tree-less yard: fast growing, tall, pretty flowers.
Oh ya-one more question: when is good to plant? I've only read about them being planted in the spring, but can you plant in the fall or late summer even? Thanks for any info! wavey

It looks like a paulownia tree to me. Beautiful trees and they grow fast!
