With flu season closing in on us, Here is an excellent tea to make and have on hand, I always have a jar on the shelf ready...Nothing is going to cure the flu, but we can make ourselves feel alittle more comfortable.

FLU BREW

1 Tbsp Basil
1 Tbsp Boneset
1 Tbsp Borage
1 Tbsp Catnip
1 Tbsp Chamomile
1 Tbsp Elder Flower
1 Tbsp Fennel
1 Tbsp Horehound (or 2 Tbsp marshmallow)
1 Tbsp Yerba Santa (or 2 Tbsp elder flower)
1 Tbsp Hyssop
1 Tbsp Peppermint
1 Tbsp Plantain
3 Tbsp Rose Hips
2 Tbsp Sage
1 Tbsp Parsley (optional)

This recipe calls for dried herbs; blend herbs in a bowl & store in a glass jar (either a dark jar or out of the light) in a dry place. Add one heaping tsp or teaball to one cup of boiling water. Steep for 5-6 minutes. Stir in one teaspoon of honey (NOT SUGAR) & drink the tea while it is very hot. Repeat up to four times per day (If necessary until you feel better, or for one week.)

Here is another recipe for a special tea I also keep on hand in the pantry:

I-GOTTA-HAVE-A-CUPPA-TEA

1/4 cup each of:
chamomile
catnip
feverfew
hops
marjoram
peppermint

Mix the dried herbs and store in a glass jar in a dry place. Measure out one heaping teaspoon for each cup brewed. Cover while brew steeps, about 15 minutes. Stir in one teaspoon of honey.

This soothing tea helps with headaches, tension, stress, insomnia or reactions to physical pain that result in headaches or stomachaches.
