I bought a magnolia jane from walmart this spring. It got a few of the pink tulip shaped flowers on it, then of course, as the fell off, the leaves filled in. Recently, it started losing some of it's leaves. I figured, it's needing some water.. not been getting a whole lotta rain here lately. However, I noticed, some new little fuzzy buds on it! Does anyone know if they flower a 2nd time in the fall? Or is this just a freak thing or what?

My neighbor's has flowered like that before. We were very surprised when it did it the second time in one growing season.

The new leaves on mine look like a small version of a bud but are in actual fact just that, Leaves. Mine blooms only mid winter. When i first bought my magnolia soulang. it also started to lose its leaves but i think it just needs some time to settle in.
