...of baby roses are comming up in the shade of the maple tree. I dug the grass and weeds out of there hoping to be able to move the peonies over their after they had died back. Now I don't know what to do.

These bushy little plants look like miniature rose bushes but there are no buds or flowers as yet. Is there a weed that is a look alike? The community camera won't take a picture of a plant this small so I don't have anyway to get a picture. Is there a link with pictures of wild roses that grow in the shade down here in Virginia?

HI TK i could not find any photos of just starting out small wild roses native to your area but find a few sites abought them theses are hortacultural sites not garden sites but it might help you identify them if there roses.
