Is that the burpless variety? They grow long and skinny.
I grew them last year, this year I an growing a slicing variety.
Yes, they are the burpless.. I wasn't going to grow any.. but changed my mind at the last minute, and ordered them from Gardens Alive when I was placing an order for some other stuff. Do you know if they are any good for pickling? I don't know how I'm gonna use quite this many of them..lol.
Veggie, I don't know what I did.. maybe it's the way the variety grows? I did use some miracle grow too.. I think that boosted it a little.

Wow!! very nice cuc's My cucs are a little slow, we have been without rain now for over a month, though...
But my zuccini's are awsome, we have grilled 2 of them already
And I've blanced and froze 2 zip lock bags of green beans already... Keepen my fingers crossed for my cucs
Wow, poetprose, I'm way jealous of your bean harvest! We've been focused on the nightshades so much, I've pretty much ignored the rest of the garden and planted later than maybe I should have. It's a HUGE backyard though and if my bf had his way, we'd have no grass and put in paperwork to become urban farmers, lol. They'll come in eventually and Murphy's Law dictates the harvest will then inundate us and we'll have to take time off of work to keep up with it in August. Ah well. The cucumbers have started climbing up their "ladders": 8' 4"x4"s with dowels placed every foot in alternate directions for them to climb up. That's in the name of saving space because cannellini, fava, romano, kentucky wonder wax, and trionfo violetta beans are growing in that patch along with corn and pumpkins. We need all the space we can get. The English cucumbers have flowers on them but no fruit as yet and the Lemon cucumbers are lagging behind somewhat. At least they're in full sun, not like last year when they were shaded by the tomatoes..and we still had a decent harvest.
Cucumber salad with a bit of mint and yogurt is heaven on a hot day. Or you could make up a ton of tabbouleh. Or you could make tzatziki sauce for pitas.
Just some options from my mediterranean imagination, lol.

If you pick them small enough you can pickle them. I can't grow enough (or didn't plant enough) 'cause I can sit and eat cucumber salad all day. (simple vinaigrette and any other veggies you want)

I have 21 pints the 4 quarts with new potatoes canned and ready for this winter.
