My "Lucky" Bamboo is about 12 inches tall from root to the first leaf. It has about 9 leaves on it. Most of the ones I've viewed are much shorter and look better. If I cut the cane in half and put both pieces in water, will the top half grow roots and will the bottom(with the roots) produce leaves?

syl, the answer is yes and yes, IF you have a node or joint on each piece. the bottom will send out side shoots and the top will root.

Well almost one week later these guys are doing great! thumbup I have had them in water an they never really seemed very Happy. Well this morning when I woke up all three stalks had new leaves sprouting out of the top.. grinnnn
