Hi there!

My workplace has 2 dracaena marginata plants, one of which has a sticky, white sap on the bottom leaves. It is also shedding leaves much more than the other plant. Is this normal or do we have to do something to it? They both sit in the window so probably get more direct sunlight than they should, although this is infrequent in Scotland! Both plants are watered whenever the top soil is dry, but we never know how much to give them. None of us are very green fingered I'm afraid! Any advice would be much appreciated smile

With thanks, Helen

Hi,
I don't think dracaena marginatas have "sticky, white sap" normally. Did you check closely for any bugs? Sometimes aphids or other bugs can make leaves sticky with sap. They can hide on the undersides of leaves.

Maybe someone else has better ideas...
