I'm new to freesias...I planted some bulbs in the fall of 2003. They never came up this year until now. That was so weird! I noticed several young leaves(obviously freesias) popping out from the ground. I don't know why they didn't come up and bloom in the spring, and now, when it's nearly wintertime, they decide to show up.

Is it normal for freesias to grow leaves right now, before winter? Will they survive the winter like this, or should I dig them up?

Thanks for any help!

Hmmmm....I'm not sure why they didn't grow this past spring, but I believe they do often pop up foliage in fall....my gladiolas do the same thing. They are not hardy, so you'll need to dig them up.
