hey guys. Just need a bit of advice.. we've got a maidenhair fern at home, which seems to be shrivelling up no matter what we do. It's quite a hot, dry flat, so we water it once a day and keep it out of direct sunlight, but it's still not happy. Any help would be greatly appreciated x

It would probably benefit from a misting every day, too!

Welcome to the board!

hi maggothotdog(your name cracks me up!),
i had a similar experience with the same species(and i'm in tucson so it is hot & dry as well), so i set my fern on top of my aquarium to increase it's humidity, and since then it's doing great. if you don't have some extra goldfish swimming around, you could try using a humidifying tray. they sure are pretty plants, good luck with yours.

to expand on the humidity tray... take a tray/pan/bowl of water and set the plat on rocks or some other support device OUT and above the water. the humidity created by the evaporating water will do the trick for you!
