Heart Leaf Philodendrons - December 29th, 2003 at 06:01 PM
Hi,
A co-worker has her office ceiling running wild with Heart Leaf Philodendron and it's beautiful!!! She broke me off a "piece" for me and told me to put it in a jar (or something)with water;roots will grow and I can then plant it in soil. Another co-worker did the same and hers turned out fine but I've had no such luck. I even put a little dirt (potting soil) in the bottom of the container thinking it would help it "take root". I even began using only water I'd let sit 24 hours or longer; no such luck there either.
I eventually went out a bought me one which was about 1 foot tall and growing. I still have the "piece" she gave me in hopes that it will take root and I in turn will have a new skill and can root "pieces" of my own to give to others for them to enjoy this wonderful, decorative plant. HELP.
