You know, I think we have the prettiest and most classy forum on the web.
It is so clean looking, not cluttered with a bunch of ads popping up all over the sides...and not some weird dark colors that give people headaches. It's very pleasing to the eye.

I am in the process of re-ordering the directory structure and cleaning up the server. (this has already made a big performance difference for the web pages)
Part of that process was to pick up the 300+ forum buttons that were scattered all over the floor and put them in their own cabinet, requiring that the url of each button will have to be adjusted on all the member profiles. Temporarily your buttons will be accessible at the old addy but in a few weeks they will be gone from there.

I fixed your url Lynne, but if anyone feels confident, feel free to update the url from your profile.
A typical button url right now will be something like:
http://www.thegard enhelper.com/bill.jpg

The updated url would be:
http://www.thegard enhelper.com/graphics/buttons/bill.jpg
(Be sure to leave the [ img] tags in place!)

If you don't want to "touch" anything in there, feel free to ask a hostess for help!

If you happen to run across any missing TGH photos or files in your travels, please alert us to the page so I can get it fixed.

Bill do you want to know about things we see or is it just a pain for us to point them out? I don't wanna be a pain. (yeah, yeah, I know I am anyhow )

But in some topics, Critter Corner, for example and right here in Member Benefits, the words next to the buttons are not there like they are in other topics, like Banter. (profile shows but not pm, edit, quote, etc.)

I'd appreciate any tips on missing links because then I won't have to go searching for them later!

I wonder what my Kentucky accent would sound like on the German site.

I got a Tennessee accent but my friends in Germany understand me fine when I speak either English or German. Deutsch ist nicht so schwer. (German is not so difficult).

Actually my German is a little rusty. I would be, "Der Vogel Mann".

A couple of strange things going on for me this morning. When I click on an email link, it takes me back to the first post in that topic from yesterday. Also when I click on my profile, it only shows posts from yesterday, none of todays at all, same for other profiles I click.

I deleted the cookies and logged back in. When I go to my profile now, even though I only posted once today in the CH, it has a list of posts that I made today which in fact I made yesterday.

Oh and I LOVE the blue popping up everywhere now and the cool new ads!!!

have to say (and have been meaning to post about it) that i like the blue background that's been showing up in different areas! to have it consistently throughout would be nice! i also like the little icons that have been added

on the page for 'today's topics of interest' there are now just too many colors - and they kind of clash a bit.

another site that i go to made similar changes - and added a ton of colors and the clashing was so bad it actually hurt the eyes and gave you a headache after 10 minutes.

this isn't that bad - i actually like all the colors you've chosen. it's just that anything over 3-4 colors is just too much.

i like how the background for each thread listing alternates...the two colors just don't flow with the blue background and the text colors. might i suggest two shades of blue? one that is the same as the page background only lighter and then the second one even lighter (almost white).

I have visiting for several weeks now and finally decided to join in. This really is a great site and well worth the time. Thank you so much for your work and effort.

I agree here - I CANNOT go into the Banter Hall right now - the colors are really hurting my eyes badly, and making the headache I already had, worse...

Could these new colors be the cause of my pages transferring & refreshing so slowly?
I thought it was ME, so I did a Spyware check, dumped all my cookies & Internet files, & even ran my Internet Explorer repair tool... nothing changed. I've been fighting lag all day long, but am not having this problem on other Web sites.

Patty, I'm finding that my pages here are moving slower than a snail the last day or two, but I'm not having trouble anywhere else. Sometimes the pages won't refresh or even load. I thought maybe it was my computer, so I cleaned everything out,

Hey Bill... One thing I have noticed pretty consistently today is that the pages are not fully loading after posting. At the bottom of my window it will say

"1 item remaining...." and it is a google page ad. I do not notice anything wrong with the pages, they just never get to the done stage.
