Lys turned 7 and we had our family party. I just had to share some pics.

She loved her cake.

How cute! That looks like a very special home made cake. Did she help to make it or pick it out. My step daughters love making thier own birthday cake. It still seems weird to me that care bears have made a come back. Next month Joey will turn 8. I can still remember when he was 3, they grow too fast.

That one is homemade. She asked for chocolate with chocolate frosting but I tweaked it a bit and made her a checkerboard cake. (I posted it down in recipes) She also got her fav dinner which was spaghetti. That is a tradition here that we all have to eat what they want no matter what it is on their birthday. Good thing none of them ever choose bad stuff. laugh laugh laugh

She LOVES carebears. She has hardly ever watched them but loves the colorful bears. The one my mom got her speaks in Spanish and English.

We usually let the kids decide what they want to eat also. Joey has already asked me if I would make my cheesecake for his birthday. Don't know what we're doing for dinner yet though. We usually let the kids pick a restaurant where they want to eat (grandma or grandpa usually pay laugh ) Then we come home for cake and presents. Joey wants to invite some of his friends for a party this year. We'll have to wait and see about that, money's a bit tight right now for us to throw him the kind of party he's asking for. Which of course is chuckee cheese. laugh nutz

We avoid all of those parties at all costs! I much prefer to have them here. Lys is one lucky girl this year, it is her year to have a friend party, we do every other year, and my SIL threw her a suprise tea party last weekend, plus the party tonight. 3 parties in a week.

The girls tomorrow will be decorating cupcakes, then having those and ice cream. They also get to have a scavenger hunt for all of their gift back presents. Shoping for that was all kinds of fun!

Thanks everyone. The party is all over now and mostly cleaned up, there are still papers from teh foam stickers on the kitchen floor. We had 7 girls show up of 11 invited so that was a great turnout. They all had a wonderful time and I have a headache. laugh laugh laugh

Happy birthday, Lys!

Lys is a beautiful girl. Her brown eyes really light up her face!

Sounds like the party was a success, Triss! That cake sure looks good!

perfect group triss and a beautiful girl. happy b'day lys!

i always read that the number of kids at a party should equal the age of the b'day kid plus one. that always worked well for me, but really, we prefered family parties. and only had one chuckee cheese party, that was for the oldest, when she was an only, and granddaddy paid! laugh laugh

i think she made a good choice for her meal. we did that too. what they want to eat and what kind of cake. if $$$ was tight, i'll cook, if not, they could pick a reasonable restaurant.
