hi, my name is ivy and i live in the wburbs outside chicago. ive been gardening for about 10 years- some of my favorite things to plant and grow would be any and all things hosta, ornamental grasses, gourds, and anything fun and weird and pretty!! cant wait to zip around the forum and learn some new things, maybe at least a couple of my seedings will survive this year w. some outside help!!!

I saw the term "windy city" in your topic title and it brought back some memories...of boarding school when I was 15 years old! Way before your time, back in the 70's...but we listened to WLS radio station all the time...all the way down here in Kentucky! (We had to turn the radio a certain way, and then point the antenna a certain way...)

cal city as we call it is about 40 mins south of me and gary is about 45mins-1 hour give or take depending on traffic. as for snow, not much- we had one good one about 3 wks ago and that was it. we have had a great deal of rain. its actually very windy and rainy tonight! i have sedum and hycinths already emerging. wacky weather here. cindy- glad to hear you have fond memories of chicago! it is a great city.
