New member here. I am a vegetable gardner. If you can not eat it, I am not growing it!

Because of my location I plant and grow during the winter and compost my raised beds during the summer.

I have limited space which I have to share with my spouse, who loves her flowering plants.

I have read through the older posts and found several usable tips already.

Just glad I found this site.

Hi there Duke. Welcome to the Forum. Is that Florida you are from? I am curious why you grow in the winter and is there anything special you have to do or if your season just lends itself to winter gardening. And also what are you growing?

Lots of questions for what I intended to be just a hello! Hope to see you around the Forum.

Triss:

Location is central coastal Florida. We have a freeze every five to six years. It's going to be close this week-end.

I grow tomatoes (Better Boy), peppers and onions.

I grow during the winter because it works better for me. Less bugs and the plants produce better. Plus I have to have some down time to do my composting. Gardening is a great stress reliever.

Thanks for that info Duke. You are lucky to be able to grow any time of the year. What I wouldn't give to be able to pop outside for a fresh tomato or pepper.
