After the devastating season last year and not much better the one before,I was thinking I would just give up on growing.My balcony seems to just get way too much wind,rain,and scorching heat for those two years.However,I couldn't resist(I love to watch things grow)and thus,I'm at it again.It'll be great talking to you folks.

If it's sunny and hot try
these in a basket or container, and
these in a big pot. Both are heat and drought tolerant and both are in my top 3 for favorites!

Hi there Joe, What are you trying to grow?
Hey Triss.This year I'm into mainly geraniums and morning glories(my usual) with a pot of mixed and one of wild flowers. Those last two I have no idea what they are but that's the fun for me. Just watch them grow and see what develops. I am somewhat restricted as my balcony is only 6'x12'. After all my whining about my "killer balcony" I tell you happily my geraniums are the size of grapefruit and almost perfectly formed. They are gorgeous! I don't know how that happened. Loz gave me a couple of suggestions (earlier post) that sound interesting but is it not too late to plant now? My morning glories are struggling. Victims of wind, they get flattened. I put up barricades when I see the trees across the road bent over to the ground and hope I can keep them in their trays till they grab onto their trellises.
I am still putting things in. I babies 5 geraniums from infant to plant stage and then gave them to all the kids teachers. Now I have none and need to get some for myself. My MG's are not doing so hot right now but hoping they do well now that it is warmer.

My garden looks like a jungle of foliage but, strangely, no flowers yet. This is the second year for my passion plants and they are about 6 feet tall so I wonder; shouldn't they be in bloom by now? My morning glories are strangling everything in sight and are about 5 foot but no buds even.Strange. Because of the weather, I planted a little late (early June) but Shouldn't I have flowers by now or at least buds? The only flowers I have right now are the wild flower and mixed bag of I don't know what's. It has been so hot and humid here I water nearly every day and maybe that's what's holding things back. Anyone else having this deal: loads of foliage/no flowers.

I had to ask them, what kind of soil they were planted in, regular garden soil or a bagged soil,
and if it was in a bagged soil, what kind?
Sometimes some of those bagged soil has fertilizers in them, but normally it's a high first number which is nitrogen which means green growth and not much for flower boosting...
I know how those morning glories can get..
I didn't plant any in my side garden this year,
cause they strangulated everything, even the 6ft+ tall sunflowers I had...
*cause everything was so packed in there in the first place..*
I have never grown a Passion plant before,
maybe someone coming thru can help you with that one...
