Messages

Once, long ago, our messages
Were sent by puffs of smoke,
Or sometimes we would beat on drums,
And that's the way we spoke.
But, then we made advances,
And found better ways, of course;
We sent our cards and letters out
With riders on a horse.
We marvelled at the telegraph,
And then the telephone;
We spoke to folks around the world
All right inside our home.
So now we have the internet,
And other instant stuff,
But still we fuss and dither that
Things just aren't fast enough!!
