My truck was in the shop for close to two weeks. My walk to work is 2 1/2 miles and takes me about an hour. Some mornings a kind neighbor picked me up. Others my feet weren't so lucky laugh
Here's my walk. {{please insert the sound of a mountain stream here}}

You need a canoe!
You could get to work fast that way...
...if the river was running in the right direction... nutz

Do you ever get nervous when you're walking by yourself and it's quiet and nobody is around?

That's quite a walk to work huh?

Even tho you have quite a stroll to get to work , the beauty of the nature accompaning you on your walk is beautiful and serene.. I bet you notice a lot more things this way, then in a car with it going by at a blur..

I see alot more, hear alot more and appreciate it all more.

Cindy the streams are running in the right direction to get to work. I would need a white water Kayak to get through some of the narrows though.

Loz, Burning calories is goooood! I never get scared walking the road alone. I think cause I know so many people that pass me from working in town, and neighbors, etc.

Penny big bro said he'd give me his old mountain bike over the summer. I'm waaaiiiiiiiting! (strum finger smiley here)

Gotta give you credit for walking to work! I would wimp out and call someone or call a taxi! But then again, my walk to work isn't as peaceful as yours!

Sarah a taxi here would probably run $85 to get to work. The closest one is about 30 miles away.

Mark get a great paying job and get a summer house up here(like my neighbors, 1/2 of them) Then you can retire here.

Angie, come to summer camp and paint your litle heart out. Yeah, I get the very blessed feeling as I walk.

Rita, what looks cold the weather to walk in or the streams? The streams are probably about 40* right now. The weather was warm enough to walk. It only rained on my days off.(more blessings??) and now that I have my truck it's supposed to rain most of the week.
